Moroes

Moroes can be such a bitch if you haven't done him enough to farm him. I mean, he's undead for starters and he's too much of a pussy to fight alone, so he always has 4 adds you have to take care of first. Nab. But when you know what to do, which you will after this guide, he'll be easah.

Why should we kill him?
Well he drops rather nice gear for starters, but if you lack the time to do Maiden after; when you kill Moroes, his trash is completely gone and you can walk up to 10 mins of fighting away from the Maiden. KIEL!

Team setup
Unless you are IMBA! you'll need:
MT, OT, shadow priest, holy priest, paladin, rogue, huntard
If you are, you can do it with any combination really.

Tactics
So here you are, letting your mage die on the trash when he AoE's the crap out of all those table groups, when you suddenly see not one, but 5 mobs where you thought only Moroes would be.

This can be a combination of the following adds (in preferred killing order):

Baroness Dorothea Millstipe - Shadow Priest
Mind Flay, Mana Burn, Shadow Word: Pain. ~66k HP
Lady Catriona Von'Indi - Holy Priest
Greater Heal, Power Word: Shield, Dispel Magic. ~68k HP
Lady Keira Berrybuck - Holy Paladin
Holy Light, Cleanse, Divine Shield. ~68k HP
Baron Rafe Dreuger - Retri Paladin
Hammer of Justice, Cleanse, Blessing of Might. ~66k HP
Lord Robin Daris - Arms Warrior
Mortal Strike, Whirlwind. ~84k HP
Lord Crispin Ference - Protection Warrior
Disarm, Shield Bash, Shield Wall. ~84k HP

You can forget all their abilities, except for the first biatch. She kills your mana when she does her Mana burn. Remember...

Moroes can do some annoying shit as well. If you wanna know what they all are:

Basic Melee: 1600-2500 on plate.
Vanish: Vanishes without dropping aggro.
Garrote: After reappearing from Vanish, he will immediately garrote someone, dealing 1000 damage every 3 seconds for 5 min (100k total damage).
Blind: A poison that blinds a target in melee range, causing them to wander no more aimlessly then they usually do, except they can't attack. It is dispellable! If one tank is Gouged, and the other tank is Blinded, Moroes will have fun with the group...
Gouge: Gouges the highest aggro, incapacitating them. Moroes will attack the second highest aggro.
Enrage: At 30% Moroes Enrages, increasing his damage.

'Phase 1' - Taking care of the adds
In this part of the fight, the focus for the group is on the adds, wheras the tanks are occupied with Moroes. Hence the raid leader should put Master Target on KTM on Moroes, to prevent lame threat dispersion.

The tanks tank Moroes at the base of the stairs - roughly at the red circle. There are two tanks because of the abilities Moroes has. His Blind and Gouge are especially annoying if you have only 1 tank! The healers make sure to dispell the Blind when it hits.

The rest of the group takes care of the adds. Read from bottom to top on the list above, to see which targets should be shackled by the two priests. The shadow priest keeps the last add shackled the entire fight. The hunter can trap one of the casters, preferably Dorothea, so the group can focus on killing the healers Keira or Catriona.

So, kill the healers, then the shadow priest, kill the next target, preferably NOT Robin Daris, because he hurts. Keep him shackled 'till the end. When you're done killing 3 out of 4 adds, go kill Moroes. If you kill all his adds, his Enrage will start right away, which is rather painful.

'Phase 2' - Moroes
The encounter with Moroes is a rather annoyingly long one for someone with so little HP - around 375k - but because he vanishes roughly every 30 seconds for... well 1 to 15 seconds, you're busy for a while.
Healers should pay attention to the one Garotted. Paladins can BoP their way out of it. If a tank is Garotted, keep him up! 1 DPS less means a longer fight, but is more expendable then a tank in this fight.
DPS can nuke all they want, because the amount of threat they generate is no match for the two tanks who had their fun while you were working on the adds.
Ice mages can Ice Block their way out of a Garotte, fire mages are screwed and left to the healer's mercy.

When Moroes reaches 0% HP he's dead and you must not forget that you have another add shackled. Tanks should get aggro on him right away, the rest of the group can nuke him or her down.
Now gather your epix and you are succesful!

Am I great or what?

ok now i don`t want to be a bitch tongue but that tactic is pretty hard and should only be done when you got only got a lot of dps. Been to Moroes today with group 2 and i can say with 100% sure of it that that tactic would have killed the raid tongue

There is a much easier way to down Moroes with less shouting and yelling. Make sure you got 3 healers and 2 priests, 1 holy and 1 shadow. and then 2 paladin healers or 1 paladin and a druid.

When moroes gets pulled shackle 2 adds *depends on what set up you got* trap 1 and kill 1. Tank pulls moroes away from the adds so he can use thunder clap safely. When 1 add got killed wich should be in 30 sec, continue to the trapped mob. When that mob is dead then you should nuke Moroes. When Moroes is dead kill remaining 2 adds and rezz and loot.

That tactic is easier and faster for 2 reasons.

1. Less garroted people
2. When done proper Moroes won`t enrage meaning the healers can focus more on the garroted people instead of the tank.

Ofc you guys might prefer it this way but i am just suggesting this seeing as it`s easier to overview during the whole fight, aslong as the priests are paying attention on the shackles.

Well, depending on how well your healers are healing, I'd not do this at all. Every raid can do its own thing of course, but keeping two adds shackled is asking for a dead priest, unless he keeps his attention between healing and the shackled add. Since the garottes can easily take your mind off of the shackled add - I've seen this happen a lot - I'd say KIEL first and keep the last one shackled by the SP.

If it so happens that you don't have a hunter in the party, always kill the SP (Keira) first, to prevent seeing your healers get OOM in about... 4 secs. Her Mana Burn really burns your mana o_O

Anyway, it can be done by killing two adds, but if you don't have the brightest of healers - meaning that you, healer, focus on the raid more then your shackled add - it can result in one or two priest dead, which is even worse.

yeah idd that might be possible but when that happens you obviously don`t have experienced healers with you. And the problem i see with killing 3 adds is that DPS will be off moroes to long. Resulting in Moroes going in rage and he will double his damage on the Tank and OT but also his attacks are faster.

and well thing is for when you keep to priests shackled the priest should be at a distance but at a rate that he will see when the shackle breaks.
